Serves- 1

Ingredients

Bread slices – 2

Onion (finely chopped) – ¼ cup

Tomatoes (chopped) – ½ cup

Green chilli (finely chopped) – 1

Ginger (grated) – ¾ tsp

Mustard seed – ½ tsp

Oil – 1 Tbsp

Peanuts/cashew nuts – 8-10

Chilli powder – ½ tsp

Turmeric powder – 2 pinch

Sugar – ½ tsp

Salt – to taste

Coriander leaves (finely chopped) – a handful

Curry leaves – 1 stick

Lemon juice (optional) – 1 tsp

Preparation Method

  • Heat a pan and dry toast the bread slices. Make them into small cubes and keep it aside to cool.
  • In the pan, pour oil and fry peanuts/cashew nuts till they are a golden brown color and keep it aside. Add mustard into the same oil and when crackled, add other ingredients like chopped onion, grated ginger, curry leaves, chopped tomatoes one after the other. To this add the spices – chili powder, turmeric powder, salt, and sugar and combine well.
  • Pour the required water and cook until the mixture is thick.
  • Now add the toasted bread cubes and peanuts/ cashews along with chopped coriander leaves and mix well.
  • Finally, sprinkle 1 tsp lemon juice and serve instantly.

Sesame Sprinkled Potato Chips
